McLeod County Parks:
McLeod County has six County Parks totaling 571 acres. Two parks are regional facilities which allow overnight camping. The other four parks are day parks. Park location: Buffalo Creek Park (Glencoe), Swan Lake Park (Silver Lake), William May Park (Winsted), Stahl's Lake Park (Hutchinson), Lake Marion Regional Park (Brownton), and Piepenburg Regional Park (Hutchinson). Camping facilities are available at Lake Marion and Piepenburg Park.
Fall & Winter use of Parks:
The McLeod County Parks will close to vehicle traffic for the season on October 7, 2019 and will reopen on April 29, 2020. County parks are closed to all visitors during the deer hunting season. During the winter, Stahl's Lake Park will have groomed cross-country trails as well as fat-tired bike trails. Buffalo Creek, Swan Lake, William Mae, Stahl's Lake, Lake Marion Park & Piepenburg Park will remain open for any type of winter activities.

The campground reservation system allows our customers the convenience of logging in from home to reserve campsites. The reservation system will officially go online to make reservations for the 2020 season on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 8 am. Customers will be able to reserve electric and non-electric sites. Every campsite will be on a first-come, first served paid reservation. RV/Electric campsite for 2020 will be $30.00/night and Tent/non-electric will be $23.00/night.
The park shelter online reservation system opens Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 8am. Customers will be able to reserve park picnic shelters located at the following parts: Buffalo Creek (Glencoe); Swan Lake Park (Silver Lake); William May Park (Winsted); Stahl's Lake (Hutchinson); two shelters at Lake Marion Park (Brownton); two shelters at Piepenburg Park (Hutchinson); starting May 1st and ending Oct 13th, 2020. Reservations are $35.00/day.
All users will be required to setup an account. You will be required to supply your name, address, phone number and email address to create an account. At the time you confirm your reservation, you will be required to pay for the reservation in FULL, per site, using a credit card. Your credit card information will not be kept by our system. When booking holiday weekends, be advised that you should checkout and pay to guarantee your reservation.
